This one-day class is offered for all energy healing and spirituality practitioners as a way to decolonize their practice for better efficacy and reducing harm. Though energy healing practice is ancient, modern day practice and education of energy healing is most often framed from patriarchal and colonized perspective. This is not only an issue for the integrity of the practice, but also for the efficacy. As above, so below, and as within, as without; especially in the field of spirituality and energy healing, how things are framed within our psyche directly affects our practice.
In this class, we will cover:
* Why ‘decolonize’ energy healing
* Effects of colonization
* Progression of the belief system
* Religious dogma, colonization and oppression
* Understanding of different dimensions & realms
* Energy healing as spiritual practice
* Undoing colonization of our psyche
This class is a part of MINKA Usui & Earth Evolution Reiki Teacher Training, and your participation of this class can be applied to their teacher training credit if participants choose to apply to the program and accepted in 2023 or 2024.
It was designed by Aki Hirata Baker and Manu Del Prete, Reiki Godmothers of MINKA brooklyn drawing from their popular Usui Reiki, Earth Evolution Reiki, Intuition Development and Psychic Development courses, with a particular focus on decolonizing practice they have developed and been practicing. Their style of teachings and practice has been known for their transformative qualities, and they attribute their efficacy in their decolonizing spiritual practice.

What Is Sliding Scale?
We provide all of our community offerings and some private sessions by Sliding Scale.
We believe everyone is entitled to heal their wounds so they can thrive; we also believe that the wellness and healing practitioners deserve to make a living wage. In order to make this possible, we ask you to pay as much as you can, so those who might not be able to pay as much can still receive their healing session - this is the idea behind 'paying it forward'. We are all in this together, and we choose to do our best to take care of one another.
