Hello, my name is Bryan, it’s nice to be in touch!

I was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up mostly in Cleveland Heights, OH, with an older brother, Devin, bouncing around the Northeast and Midwest, USA. The majority of my adolescent memories take place in school and on the soccer field. I graduated from The University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2010.

I moved to NYC in 2011 on a whim. After some really difficult years in the city, I found myself at a 10-day silent meditation retreat in Kaufman TX (2016). Upon returning to the city, I happened upon a tiny meditation studio near Washington Square Park called MNDFL, where I’d study meditation and work for the next few years. In hopes of bolstering my meditation practice, I started to incorporate yoga and movement into my practice and eventually began to work and practice at Sky Ting in TriBeCa.

Meditation and yoga serve as a way to connect to myself in a way that goes beyond the everyday. Having time and space for self-inquiry and connection are deeply regenerative and supportive for me in this season of life. The people I meet in these spaces are often magical too :)

My teaching is most influenced by the Vipassana tradition of meditation and the wonderful Thupten Phuntsok, of the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. My class is my best attempt to blend my personal experience and understanding of the teachings with what I’m being influenced and shaped by at any given moment. I hope you can join!

OFFERINGS

Yoga

"The best thing about yoga is you don't have to be good at it for it to work." - Eddie Stern. Improve your strength, flexibility and mobility in a dynamic offering suited to your specific needs. Yoga practices can range from deeply restorative to high intensity or a mix depending on your preference. The story of your life is written in your body. With the magic of yoga, we can learn more about who we are, where we come from and also start to rewrite the stories we hope to see manifest in our lives!

500hr YRT - SKY TING, Sacred Fig & Katonah Yoga. Restorative Yoga - Dr. Abby Paloma

Meditation

The human mind is more powerful than a wild elephant. Learn to harness your power through self-inquiry and the many techniques for focusing and stilling the mind. The meditative state comprises 5 basic characteristics - tranquility, radiance, clarity, joy and stillness. Everything we'll do together will support the enrichment of these 5 states in your daily life. Explore, find the right techniques and styles for you and grow yourself a healing space that belongs only to you.

Vipassana Tradition - SN Goenka, Tibetan Buddhism - Ven. Thupten Phuntsok

Breathwork

Found in both the yoga and meditative traditions, breathwork can also stand completely on its own - Pranayama being one of the 8 limbs of the yogic path (and one that seems to be quickly gaining widespread interest amongst curious practitioners). We'll weave breath techniques into our yoga and meditation sessions as a potent way to engage the mind, shift emotions and clear stagnation or "stuck" energy.

*Any session can combine any three of these offerings, in whatever balance works best for you!
