Qigong is an ancient holistic Chinese system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention.
Qigong (Chi Kung) means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.
Qigong practices can be classified as martial, medical, or spiritual. All styles have three things in common: they all involve a posture, (whether moving or stationary), breathing techniques, and mental focus. Some practices increase the Qi; others circulate it, use it to cleanse and heal the body, store it, or emit Qi to help heal others.
Yang style QiGong with Taganyahu Swao will be a series of moving and stationary postures. The moving postures will open up the channels of energy that flow through the body. The stationary postures help to cultivate and build up the Qi. By bringing the awareness to one's breath one will become aware of their Qi and develop the ability to cultivate it. The class will leave ones with a feeling of focus, relaxation and an overall sense of well-being.
The slow gentle movements of Qigong can be easily adapted, even for the physically challenged and can be practiced by all age groups.
Taganyahu Swao is a Qi Gong practitioner and Acupuncturist. Trained in the lineage of Cheng Man Ching. Taganyahu teaches Yang Style Qi Gong & Daoist Meditation.
Qi Gong promotes relaxation, focus and inner strength, and it is said that doing Qi Gong early in the morning is optimal to get the maximum benefits of the rising Yang Qi that is strongest in the morning.
Taganyahu will guide ones through the movements and postures to help the class develop proper posture and performance.
