I currently offer private and semi-private lessons for students who are new to yoga, interested in exploring depth in practice, addressing specific issues, or simply need to move with personalized guidance. In the past I have worked with clients on injury and pain management and rehabilitation, stress and sleep disorders, developmental issues, post-surgery recovery, meditation, complementary work with health regiments or with medical treatments, specific asana groups (like backbends or inversion work), and much more.  Private sessions are truly beneficial when you are seeking to reach new levels in your life and I don’t just mean physical, your mental, and emotional levels of consciousness will continue to expand and evolve in pleasantly surprising ways.

I have training and experience in therapeutic applications of yoga as well as Somatic Movement Therapy methods, and have worked with clients of all ages and abilities, all of whom have different pursuits in our work together. I can work in your home or in a studio, although I recommend a studio with ample props for those who are working with serious limitations or injuries.

My Semi-Private & Private Sessions are tailor-made to meet your goals or desires, and involve your choice of focus from my Yoga specializations in combination with any of the Somatic Movement Therapy / Education modalities I practice, including:

  • Restorative Yoga
  • Therapeutic Yoga
  • Vinyasa Flow Yoga
  • Bartenieff Fundamentals
  • Postural Assessment (including an assessment with manuel stretching & a personalized practice to take home)
  • Dance & Movement Improvisation
  • Chakra Meditation & Pranayama (breath work)
  • Mindfulness Practices (Guided meditation/relaxation techniques, Yoga Nidra, Walking Meditation)

Corinne Cappelletti is a Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist, educator, and healer working with re-patterning, yoga, guided imagery/ meditation, place, and the environment.  Her interests lie at the intersection of somatic research, improvisational movement scores, eco-feminism, map-making, trauma healing, herbalism, and environmental psychology. She builds community and environmental change through public body-based arts projects supported by Culture Push, More Art, DE-CONSTRUKT [projekt], and the Artist Volunteer Center, among other organizations. As a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist she sees clients privately and teaches group classes aimed to tap people into their creativity, cope with stress, navigate chronic pain, understand others and operate with greater efficiency and joy with everything we do.

Corinne’s professional dance career ran parallel with a to somatic practices: Body-Mind Centering®, Restorative Yoga & Yoga Therapeutics, Contact Improvisation, Qi-Gong & Meditation. Her somatic studies began in Bali & Java in 2000 with Naropa University Cultural Exchange, studying traditional dance and martial art forms in residence with Parmin Ras Teater during the Awakening Art Festival and with Ni Wayan Sekariani. She continued Indonesian studies in 2001 as a Post-graduate USIndonesian Society Fellow and began yoga with a daily Mysore practice in the Ashtanga Yoga in 2002. Cross-cultural dance and movement studies are at the root of Corinne’s body-based practices and dance-making.

In 2010 Corinne developed a somatic practice called IMPRINT in collaboration with Eva Perrotta, exploring the physiology of touch. They now co-facilitate a social platform, roodərəl (of a plant) growing on waste ground or among refuse, bringing audiences to the streets reconnect, play, and experiment with weeds growing in places where the earth and the people receive their gifts. Corinne continues to study with body-based therapists: Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen (BMC), Jillian Pranksy (Restorative/Therapeutic Yoga), Cate Stillman (Ayurvedic Wellness), and Nita Michaan (Katonah Yoga, Hatha-based yoga infused with the Taoist system of natural laws) as much as she can to inform her private practice. She was the Certification Programs Manager and faculty at the Global non-profit school, The Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies from 2009 until the spring of 2016.
